My step-daughter is a Swiftie. That means she has a ton of friendship bracelets that she makes. She needed something cool to display them with. That is how the project started.

This was my first real attempt at designing something other than a name plate. At the time, I was using Shapr3D as my go to design app. That is what I started in.

It began as just a cylinder on a circle base. Pretty boring. Pretty basic. I thought I could make it better and changed the cylinder into the shape of a heart. Then my wife suggested adding Lover, which was one of Taylor Swift’s album names, to the design of the heart.

That wasn’t too difficult, but I couldn’t get the “r” to look good on prints and have it fit. Ultimately, I settled on just “Love” and I think it looks pretty good.

I also started with a rounded edge, but I did not like how that was printing. I switched to a chamfered edge and was pretty happy with the results.

Trying to get the “r” to look right was part of the reason for so many test prints, which probably accounted for about half of them. The second reason was trying to get a smooth surface on the base. Bambu Studio includes a feature called ironing. I thought I had it looking pretty good, but it wasn’t consistently smooth. You can see an example of that in the third photo below. After many tweaks and countless visits to Reddit and Google, I finally had it dialed it. It looks great on most of the colors. You cannot do it on the multi-color ones as it just doesn’t turn out. It still looks great without being “ironed”.

This is currently for sale in a variety of colors.
